CENTER POLICIES

The Center is a place where people (60+ years of age) come for friendship, support and services. In order to make it a comfortable and welcoming place for all, the following policies were adopted (May 1, 2003):

  1. Center Hours: All those who use the Center will observe designated hours of operation: 8:30 am to 3:30pm.

  2. Lunch Hours: Lunch is served only during the designated hours of 11:30am - 12:15pm. Home-delivered meals (M.O.W.) and congregate meals are under the Council of Aging rules and shall be followed. There is a suggested donation of $3.00 per meal.

  3. Behavior: Everyone using the Center shall conduct themselves in a proper and decent manner at all times. The Center discourages the use of profanity--such as, foul language or obscene stories. When problems arise with seniors or staff persons that cannot be resolved in an amicable manner, the Executive Director must be consulted.

  4. Smoking: No smoking is allowed in the buildings.

  5. Advocate: The Center requires an advocate to attend with people visiting from nursing homes, group homes and people with severe physical, mental and medical problems. The Center's staff is not trained or equipped for day-care services.

  6. No alcohol and no pets on the premises.

  7. Children to attend only when invited for special occasions.

  8. Property: All property (furniture, building, vehicles, supplies, etc.) will be protected and preserved by all those who use the Center.

  9. Telephone: The telephone may be used for local calls only with the permission of the Executive Director or telephone receptionist.

  10. Elevator: Everyone shall adhere to all rules of safety.

  11. Medical: If there is a medical problem, call 911 and wait for the ambulance. Do not move anyone.

  12. Problems: Problems of any kind are to be brought to the Executive Director. If not resolved, the Executive Director will bring them before the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors and the Executive Director will discuss personal issues in privacy and confidentiality.

  13. All employees shall be made aware of this policy.

Those who abuse Center policies will be subject to actions by the Board of Directors.
